Jay Z and Drake have been firing shots back and forth for a while now. Although it's hard to tell if the two rap heavyweights are simply engaging in friendly rivalry or if they're actually beefing, it's clear that Drake is obviously relevant in Jay's mind. Jay hardly ever responds to diss records or comments, but has responded several times to Drizzy's remarks.
In Jay's recent collaboration on DJ Khaled's "They Don't Love You No More" featuring Rick Ross, Meek Mill and French Montana, he expresses his issue with the NCAA not paying college athletes. Jay Z, who founded Roc Nation Sports agency said this in his new verse:
"Got hella options/ Like a college team/ Hit these bootleg n*ggas with the Heisman/ F*ck the NCAA n*gga/ Let a young n*gga get paid, n*gga"
Seeing that Jay is a licensed NBA and MLB agent, I'm sure his problem with the NCAA not sharing the wealth with college athletes has a little something to do with a percentage of that money that he could be earning as well.
He then took yet another subliminal jab at Drake when he said:
"Wrong sports, boy, you know you soft as the lacrosse team."
This was most likely a respoonse to Drake's latest remark to TSN commentators last week at the Toronto Raptors vs. Brooklyn Nets game. Speaking about Jay's absence at the game, Drizzy commented: "Jay is somewhere eating a fondue plate."
