On Tuesday, August 6th, Chris Brown revealed via Twitter that after the release of “X,” his upcoming LP, that he will quit music!
Breezy followed the shocking tweet with an explanation, saying: “Being famous is amazing when it’s for your music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when I was 18. I’m cool and over it!”
We all know that the mistake that Chris is referencing is the 2009 assault of on-and-off again girlfriend Rihanna.
Breezy’s sixth studio album, “X,” is set to hit stores on August 20th. Let’s just hope that he was feeling some type of way and isn’t serious about retiring and chunking up the deuces to the industry (pun intended) at the ripe old age of 24. I mean, plenty of performers have pulled this stunt and claimed that they were retiring, only to release several more albums. As a case in point, let’s look at Jay-Z who claimed he would retire only to return in 2006 following a three-year hiatus that he later admitted was “the worst retirement in history.”
