Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Karrueche Tran and more Make Bold Fashion Statements This Week

I am a fan of the red cutout Maxi dress that Katie Cleary wore to the 2013 Espy Awards. Though some might argue that she was underdressed, I disagree. I think that the nature of the event allowed for a softer relaxed ensemble. She did everything right with her hair, makeup and accessories to glam the dress up. The golden snake necklace Katie wore kept the attention away from the gathering of material at her feet.

The “soon to be married” couple LeBron James and fiancée Savannah Brinson turned heads on the the red carpet. I am a big fan of the custom Waraire Boswell burgundy suit that LeBron wore. The suit featured a wide black shawl lapel and he completed his look with a black bowtie. Savannah Brinson wore a fluffy Michael Costello gown that I didn’t quite understand but appreciated the glamfort. (Glamour + Effort)

Up and coming fashionista Selena Gomez looked beautiful in a Dolce & Gabbana lacy red number. The dress featured three-quarter length sleeves and a great amount of embellishment detail. Selena chose to shorten the dress from the runway version and wore black Casadei ‘Rodio Stellix’ pumps and Neil Lane jewels to complete her look.

Sports Illustrated model Katherine Webb’s ESPY look glammed up the red carpet. She wore a white Edition by Georges Chakra sleeveless dress which featured a sweetheart-neckline and geometric sequined front. She finished her look with a sparkly blue Jimmy Choo clutch. A blue pump might have taken this look to the next level but as a professional model she knows a nude pump always elongates the legs and you can’t go wrong with that.

Auto racing star Danica Patrick walked the red carpet wearing a Badgley Mischka strapless black dress. This dress featured a golden embellished bodice with leather panels and a suede skirt. Danica chose to shorten the skirt from the runway look. Gold strappy sandals and a black clutch completed her sassy look.

Robin Roberts looked fantastic in a red asymmetrical gown as the Good Morning America anchor accepted the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage. She was honored with this award for her inspiring work and brave fights against breast cancer and myelodysplastic syndrome [MDS]. So good to see her out and about.

I must take a moment to acknowledge Vanessa Hudgens’ fashion win. Whilst in London, Vanessa was spotted wearing a gorgeous Black and Red paisley Brocade Moschino Suit. She opted to minimize the runway look and go sans shirt. She finished with a simple black pump and Givenchy bag. This look is everything.

Gabrielle Union wore a futuristic Marc Bouwer dress that featured heavy embellishment and a plunging neckline. The dress has an open back and separated shoulders. She finished her look with Black leather pumps and a Dwyane Wade. Yes, I said it! Dwyane Wade looked dapper in a black peak label Lanvin one-button tuxedo that he paired with a white dress shirt with black glassy buttons. Wade added a silk scarf, black bow tie, and pearl lapel pin. The final touch was a pair of bold Miami Heat red kicks. Best looking couple award surely goes to them.

Ever wonder what exactly Miss Karrueche Tran does? Me too, but I can’t help you with that. All I can say is the Helmut Lang (inspired?) skirt that she paired with the Alexander Wang Leather Bralette that we’ve seen around is everything. Looks like the next trend and Karrueche is ahead of the curve.
