Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Lawrence, James Marsden and more This Week in Fashion...

Fresh off a ‘Critic’s Choice Award’ win, Lupita Nyong’o, stunned on the red carpet of the Screen Actors Guild Awards in a bright turquoise Gucci gown. The ‘12 Years a Slave’ actress won for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. The silky crepe design featured beautiful embellished floral straps. She explained to E’s Guliana Rancic that she chose this particular design because of the “flower[s] and the nature aspect.” She finished off this particular look with Fred Leighton jewelry. Perhaps my favorite part of her speech was when she recalled the conversation she had with her father right after she landed the role in ‘12 Years a Slave.’  Lupita told the crowd, “I said, ‘Daddy, do you know Brad Pitt? I’m going to be in a movie with him.’ And he said, ‘I don’t know him personally, but I’m glad you got a job.” That sounds about right. So humble and I love it.

Speaking of the ‘Critics’ Choice Movie Awards’ Lupita Nyong’o was a vision in a white Calvin Klein Collection design.  The silky ivory custom gown reminded me of Milla Jovovich’s character in 5th Element (cue blue alien song). She accessorized with a Calvin Klein golden clutch, Kimberley McDonald frosting, and Paul Andrew shoes.

She gave me Katniss Everdeen in ‘Hunger Games’, she held  her own as Rosalyn Rosenfeld in  ‘American Hustle’ and is rumored to be a part of several highly anticipated films. I am speaking of course about friend of mine a.k.a. Jennifer Lawrence who also sparkled on the red carpet of the SAG Awards wearing…you guessed it…Christian Dior. The strapless gown was reminiscent of a Lisa Frank color pallete. In any case those colors were the very thing that added the much needed dimension to the dress and in turn looked fabulous on her silhouette. Brian Atwood pumps and Jennifer Meyer jewelry finished off Jen’s look.

Television personality Maria Menounos looked like a Grecian goddess in a Rani Zakhem gown. The lacy golden bodice met a ballet-pink chiffon gown. A boxy golden Oroton clutch and Neil Lane jewelry completed her look.

Actress Aisha Tyler was seen on the red carpet of the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards looking beautiful in a Tadashi Shoji design. The long sleeved beaded lace gown featured a golden hue that peaked through the lace and a train. Aisha’s hair was swept into a classic bun; she wore some teardrop earring and finished off her look with a red lip.

“Say heeeeeey Mrs. Carter!”…I love that part. Beyoncé was invited to sing some of her hit songs including ‘Single Ladies’ and ‘Irreplaceable’ at FLOTUS Michelle Obama’s 50th Birthday Bash. She dazzled in a Randi Rahmn creation. The champagne and gold fringe dress was reminiscent of the ‘Great Gatsby’ vibe and I loved everything about it. Nude pumps, gold bangles and drop earrings completed her look for the evening. I guess she woke up like this, flawless.

Actress Juliette Lewis, a member of the all-star cast of ‘August: Osage County’, was seen attending the ‘Critics’ Choice Awards’ looking darling in red. She chose a ruby red Zac Posen gown that featured a plungling neckline, padded shoulders and beautiful fabric draping at the hips. She finished her look with Rupert Sanderson shoes, a Brian Atwood clutch, and Coomi frosting. I personally am afraid of shoulder pads because I think they make you look like you’re wearing a “Zuit Suit.” But if you must wear them Zac and Juliette just showed you how it’s done.

‘Homeland’ star, Morena Baccarin, showed off her amazing post-baby body in a vibrant blue-hued flowy Monique Lhuillier design at the SAG Awards. Morena finished off her timeless look with a diamond cuff and a black Jimmy Choo clutch.

Actor James Marsden, recently seen in ‘The Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ was spotted on the red carpet of the ‘Critics’ Choice Movie Awards’ in all of his plaid glory. I absolutely love the Ovadia & Sons grey plaid suit. James paired this suit with a crispy white shirt, a dark navy tie and tan Givenchy shoes. Marsden’s pose says everything...he knew he was winning with that outfit.
