Lesson 7: Harvesting The Seed Of Hope In You

Bible Fact: God has put a capacity for hope in Him within the heart of all people for them to discover their life  purpose and dreams.

The Big Idea: Hope in God is life’s greatest human asset that is always available to all people.

What To Do Next After You Have Planted The Seeds of Your Hope (Pt. 2)

James 5:7,8

Our Father thank You for letting me continue to experience this undeserved moment of my life. I have planted my desires and needs before Thee in heaven by faith. I wait on Thee for the return of my reward that You see fit for me to have at Your will.  In my waiting for your response help me to withstand the trials and the uncertainties that will come upon me in the future. Be close to me to let me know Your voice from mine, Satan or anyone else besides You.  Teach me to stand firm on Your promises toward me.  Help me to endure and to trust You as Your word instructs me to do. When I am weakened at times in my waiting surround me with Your encouragement and sanctify me with Your peace.  When the fiery flames of temptations seek to consume me hold my mind in the strength of Your will to see the good that You want out of my waiting. Counsel my heart to wait and know Your timing and Your will for all that You bless me with. Let whatever You bless me with as Your response to my faith be my sufficiency and let all of it glorify Thee. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen. ---by Manson B. Johnson, Shepherd

What to do next after you plant your seeds of hope:

I. Obey God by following His instructions.  Proverbs 3:5,6

A. Resist the temptation to misinterpret His message.

B. Resist the temptation to get another human to help you in order to know what God said to you.  Isaiah 30:21

C. Trust your relationship with God and obey His voice. Psalm 23:1-6

  • Depend upon God for His presence with you.
  • Depend upon God for His power in you.
  • Depend upon God to protect you.
  • Depend upon God’s providence to provide a way for you.
  • Depend upon God’s promises to never fail you.

II. Giving by faith commands a faith return from God. Romans 4:17; Hebrews 11:1, 6,8; Matthew 13:8; Matthew 16:18

A. God honors our giving with victory REWARDS at the level that they are capable of handling. Matthew 13:8

B. You have not because you do not say anything to God about what you want; James 4:2,3

C. A faith return can always be tied back into what God has said (promise); Joshua 1:3,8,9; Psalm 1:3; Matthew 13:8; Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:9
