 Happy Birthday, America!

Happy Birthday, America! On July 4, 1776, America claimed its independence from Britain and Democracy was born. The United States is truly a diverse nation made up of many dynamic people. Each year on July 4, Americans everywhere celebrate freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings. Independence Day is a day of family and friends celebrations with picnics and barbecues, showing a great deal of emphasis on the American tradition of political freedom.  It wouldn't be Independence Day without fireworks. Forward Times definitely participated in the many July 4th festivities that included a reading of the Declaration of Independence at Bayou Bend and concluded with a Freedom Over Texas spectacular fireworks display in Downtown Houston.
