PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Offense

Michael Haywood, Westside

Quarterback, 6-2 180 Sr.

Haywood was 12-18 passing or 277 yards and three touchdowns.  He also carried the ball 12 times for 104 yards in their 51-14 victory over Clements.

Defense

Holton Hill, Lamar

Defensive Back, 6-2 170, Jr

Hill had 9 total tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 pass deflections, and 1 interception return for 68 yards in Lamar’s 38-6 win over Elkins.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

OFFENSE

QUARTERBACKS

Camreyon Jackson, Milby 6-0 165, Jr. Jackson completed 30 of his 51 passing attempts for 366-yards and four touchdowns.  He led his team to a 39-13 victory over Northbrook.

Darrell Colbert, Lamar 6-0 185, Sr. Colbert was 19-32 passing for 204-yards and two touchdowns.  He also had 16 carries for 71-yards in Lamar’s 38-6 win over Elkins.

Xavier McGee, Washington 5-9 160, Jr. Mcgee was 4-5 passing for 91-yards and two touchdowns.  He also carried the ball 7 times for 3 yards and two rushing touchdowns in their 70-12 win over Lee.

RUNNING BACKS

Ronnie Wesley, Lamar 5-9 165, Jr. Wesley carried the ball 29 times for 182 yards and four touchdowns.  He also had 1 reception for 9 yards in Lamar’s 38-6 victory over Elkins.

Bruce Wilson, Yates, Sr. Wilson rushed the ball 18 times for 136 yards and three touchdowns in Yates 32-16 victory over North Forest.

Xavier McDaniel, Washington, 5-9, 150 Jr. McDaniel carried the ball 10 times for 130 yards and three touchdowns in Washington’s 42-6 victory over Sam Houston.

Lorian Easley, Westside , Jr. Easley rushed the ball 10 times for 105 yards and three touchdowns in Westside’s 51-14 victory over Clements.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Bobby Hartzog, Westside 6-1 185, Sr. Hartz had three catches for 195 yards and three touchdowns in Westside’s  51-14 win over Clements.

Everick Austin, Milby, 6-1, 175, Sr. Austin had six catches for 165 yards and two touchdown’s in Milby’s 39-13 win over Northbrook.

Dion Dorsey, Sharpstown, Sr  Dorsey had six catches for 121 yards and one touchdown in Sharpstown’s  41-27 loss against Westbury.

David Williams, Wheatley, Sr. Williams had four catches for 118 yards and one touchdown in Wheatley’s 25-6 loss against Kashmere.

Andre Rivers, Milby 6-2 175, Jr. Rivers had five catchers for 93 yards and two touchdowns in Milby’s 39-13 win over Northbrook.

DEFENSE

Caleb Robertson, Westside, 6-2, 175, Jr. Robertson had 7 tackles and three pass deflections for Westside in their 51-14 win over Clements.

Trevion Duncan, Lamar 5-9, 170 Jr.  Duncan had 9 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, and one interception return for 12 yards in Lamar’s 38-6 win over Elkins.

Salvador Zuniga, Waltrip 5-8 170 Sr. Zuniga had two interceptions in Waltrip’s 32-31 loss against Pasadena.

Bradley Cunningham, Westside 6-2, 235 Sr. Cunningham had an incredible 15 tackles of which two were tackles for a loss in Westside’s 51-14 win over Clements.

Glenn Anderson, Lamar, 5-11, 180 Sr. Anderson had 9 tackles and one interception for 12-yards in Lamar’s 38-6 win over Elkins.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Demetrius Davis, Sterling 5-8 175, Sr.  Davis returned a kickoff for 85 yards and a touchdown against Willowridge.  He also had 9 carries for 37 yards.

Benjamin Lemond, Waltrip 5-6 150, Jr. Lemond had a punt return for 72 yards and a touchdown in Waltrip’s loss to Pasadena. He also had one reception for 76 yards and a touchdown.
