Westside racks up 72 points in win over Kempner
Westside was unstoppable Saturday as they compiled an amazing 641 yards of total offense against Kempner. That total included 207 passing yards and 434 rushing yards.
Michael Haywood led the attack for Westside as he completed 15 of 22 passes for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also ran 12 times for 203 yards and 3 touchdowns. Lorean Easley rushed 8 times for 126-yards and a score along with Jacob Guiterrez carrying the ball 7 times for 93-yards and a score.
Haywood’s favorite receiver of the night was Frank Iheanacho who had 8 receptions for 139-yards and a score.
Westside forced 3 turnovers and held Kempner to just 80-yards rushing.
Waltrip able to stay undefeated in district play with 34-7 win
Waltrip led behind the running of Malik Jarmon, was able to get a victory over Ausin on Saturday. Jarmon finished the game with 19 carries for 109 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The game was very close as both defenses were able to limit production in the first half. Waltrip led 7-0 going into the half behind a 28-yard run by Josh Helton. Austin was held scoreless in the first half.
Waltrip opened things up in the third quarter with two touchdown runs from Malik Jarmon. The defense sealed the victory for Waltrip when Checkie Graves grabbed an interception and took it 95-yards on the return for the touchdown.
Reagan has no problems as they dominate Wheatley 63-14
Reagan tallied up 461 total yards as they dominated Wheatley en route to a 63-14 victory Saturday evening. Wheatley wasn’t able to get anything going in the first half as they remained scoreless and only had 127 total yards for the game.
Reagan started the scoring off with a 12-yard run from Tavon Dodd. Dodd finished the game with nine carries for 233-yards and three touchdowns. Patrick Roberts caught four receptions for 101-yards and a touchdown.
Reagan never had a problem scoring as they scored 56 of their 63 points in the first half. Wheatley had four turnovers, three fumbles and one interception. David Williams had both scores for Wheatley to give them 14-points.
North Forest overpowers Milby and wins 47-29
On the opening kickoff, Jarmail Proctor for North Forest took the return 90 yards for a touchdown. North Forest never looked back after that as they went on to beat Milby 47-29 Saturday.
Milby was unable to get any offense going on their first drive. They punted the ball to North forest and the Bulldogs were able to get points from a 36-yard field goal by Jose Barajas. Milby was able to get two scores in the second quarter. The first, a 2-yard run from Camreyon Jackson and a 65-yard pass from Jackson to Andre Rivers. Milby trailed 16-14 at the half.
North Forest extended their lead with two more scores in the third quarter and never looked back, racking up 344 total yards for the game. North Forest had two 100-yard rushers with Tiderus Evans getting 118-yards on 19 carries for three touchdowns, and JaMarcus Anderson getting 134-yards on 10 carries for two touchdowns.
Devaun Chachere for Milby had 9 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown.
Jones unable to catch a rhythm as they lose 55-24
Jones was first up to score with a 1-yard run from Frank Johnson but it was all Danbury after that. Tyler Blackwell accounted for 3 touchdowns, 2 rushing and 1 receiving as he finished the game with 8 carries for 41-yards along with 4 receptions for 105-yards. Brannon Larson had 3 receptions for 113-yards and 2 touchdowns for Danbury. Their quarterback Spencer Seman completed 9 of 16 passes for 237-yards and 3 touchdowns.
Jones did get a solid running effort from Cody Hayes-Tyler who finished the game with 9 rushes for 103 yards and 1 touchdown.
