PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Offense

Avery Davis, Furr, Quarterback, Senior

Davis completed 14-of-16 passes for 277-yards and five touchdowns.  He also rushed the ball 4 times for 23-yards and one rushing touchdown for six total touchdowns in Furr’s 68-0 victory over Scarborough.

Defense

Bradley Cunningham, Linebacker, Senior

Cunningham had 13 total tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, and one sack in Westside’s 42-29 victory over Madison.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

OFFENSE

QUARTERBACKS

Alfred Robertson, Worthing, Robertson completed 16 of his 31 passing attempts for 213-yards and three touchdowns.  He also ran the ball 12 times for 65-yards and one rushing touchdown in Worthing’s 28-0 victory over Jones.

Darrell Colbert, Lamar, Colbert completed 12-of-25 passes for 192-yards and two touchdowns.  He also rushed the ball 15 times for 123-yards and one rushing touchdown in Lamar’s 28-21 victory over Bellaire.

Dante Arseneaux, Madison, Arseneaux was 19-of-32 passing for 275-yards and three touchdowns.  He also ran the ball 21 times for 92-yards and one rushing touchdown in Madison’s 42-29 loss to Westside.

RUNNING BACKS

Nicholas Pelrean, Chavez, Pelrean carried the ball 19 times for 191-yards and four touchdowns in Chavez’s 51-7 win over Westbury.

Kevin Sowell, Austin, Sowell rushed the ball 25 times for 147-yards and two touchdowns in Austin’s 30-12 loss to Sharpstown.

Ceveland Bailey, Sharpstown, Bailey carried the ball 6 times for 110-yards and two touchdowns in Sharpstown’s 30-12 win over Austin.

Demetrius Davis, Sterling, Davis rushed the ball 21 times for 131-yards and one touchdown in Sterling’s 29-16 victory over Washington.

Ronnie Wesley, Lamar, Wesley rushed the ball 10 times for 134-yards and one touchdown in Lamar’s 28-21 victory over Bellaire.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Benjamin Lemond,Waltrip, Lemond had six catches for 158-yards and one touchdown in Waltrip’s 28-14 loss to Reagan.

Traveon Auzenne, Worthing, Auzenne had five catches for 101-yards and two touchdowns in Worthing’s 28-0 victory over Jones.

Joe Lewis, Aldine, Lewis had nine catches for 119-yards and one touchdown in Aldine’s 34-36 loss to Nimitz.

Frank Iheanacho, Westside, Iheanachohad six catches for 91-yards and three touchdowns in Westside’s 42-29 victory over Madison.

Stacy Piro, Furr, Piro had two catches for 115-yards and two touchdowns in Furr’s 68-0 victory over Scarborough.

DEFENSE

Glen Anderson, Lamar,  Anderson had 11 total tackles and 1.5 tackles for a loss in Lamar’s 28-21 victory over Bellaire.

Robbie Dobbs, Westside Dobbs had seven total tackles, three tackles for a loss, and one sack in Westside’s 42-29 victory over Madison.

Kyran Mitchell, Lamar, Mitchellhad 11 total tackles and two tackles for a loss in Lamar’s 28-21 victory over Bellaire.

Ira Lewis, Lamar, Lewis had six total tackles, two tackles for a loss, and 2 sacks in Lamar’s 28-21 victory over Bellaire.

DISTINCT ATHLETES

Camreyon Jackson, Milby: The quarterback ran 7 times for 106-yards and one touchdown, adding 151 yards passing and three touchdowns against Lee.

Michael Haywood, Westside: The quarterback completed 10-of-19 passing attempts for 150-yards and five touchdowns.  He also carried the ball 11 carries for 90-yards in a 42-29 victory over Madison
