Nothing kicks off the fall season like the St Mary’s Annual Church Bazaar! People come from far and near to get a taste of some good ole Creole food. There was plenty of cooking and eating that weekend.
Whether you wanted down home fried chicken, BBQ beef, seafood gumbo, fried fish, boudain, sausage on a stick, or funnel cakes amongst a wide assortment of desserts, they had it out there. They even had frozen margaritas for sale, as well as beer. Cars were parked 5 and 6 blocks down Ennis & Rosedale in both directions.
Attendees spotted in the crowd included Reba Tillman Huff, Marie Guidry, Walter Strickland, Butch Grant, Annette Proctor, Kayler Williams, Michael Mitchell,Sr., Michael Mitchell, Jr., Rozzy Shorter, Ray Barker, Jr. with his little Princess Jada, Matthew Rogers, Gaylon Davenport, Kelvin ‘KJ” Johnson, Kirby Johnson, Coach Ernest Scales, Judy Reese, Gayle Young, Kenneth Henry, Larry Ferguson, Joseph and Tiffany Lee, James ‘Smokie’ Phillips, Larry Ferguson, Rosalind Brackens, to name a few.
The crowd stayed heavy all day. The kids had fun with face painting, carnival rides and begging their parents to purchase the many toys out at the vending stations.
Good food, good dancing, good music and good people, see ya next year fabuolous church bazaar!
