Aim: To lead students to accept the Holy Ghost as the promise of Jesus Christ to them personally and to encourage them to be guided by His will for their decisions and daily living.
Bible Fact: The Bible is the infallible word of God and the primary authorized written source that gives Divine instructions to all true Christians.
Bible Text: John 16:7,13
Dr. David Nichols states, “There must be a difference between the knowledge that comes from the gathering of information, and that which comes by revelation. The Pharisees and Sadducees had the best information anyone could have in their day. If you asked them, they would tell you they were in touch with revelation, as well. But when revelation of the fullness of God stood in front of them with skin on, they called Him Beelzebub (Matthew 12:24)...How can this be? How can people who are trained in the Scriptures, some of whom are even anointed by God to perform their ministry, deny the revelation of the Son of God? There is a kind of zeal in the teaching gift when it is not submitted to apostolic and prophetic authority that is destructive. This zeal combines itself with pride in knowledge to oppose what cannot be controlled. And Jesus could not be controlled by the religious hypocrisy of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Neither could the apostles in the book of Acts...In Acts chapter 1, Jesus handed off the task of advancing the Kingdom to His followers.” (Page 17, 18 Who’s In Charge?)
I will review the anointing of Jesus as He made His mission and ministry public knowledge to others. I will learn how Jesus described the results of the anointing of the Holy Spirit in His ministry. As I conclude this study I will be able to recognize the difference that the anointing makes as one engages with God to minister to others.
I. In Luke 4:18,19 I am able to identify seven (7) outcomes of the Holy Spirit’s anointing upon Jesus Christ and His ministry that He would share with others.
II. In Matthew 3:11,12 describe three (3) attributes of the Holy Ghost’s presence as a fire and the role this fire would play upon believing receivers.
III. In Matthew 3:11,12 I can write several responses that I can perform after the Holy Ghost has applied these three (3) attributes to my life.
IV. I will review John 15:1,2 to learn how my spiritual anointing depends upon a vital connection between me and Jesus.
In this passage of scripture I can describe two spiritual operations that take place in my Christ connection that makes me spiritually fruitful in order to keep His anointing on my life strong and productive.
