DISCOVERYING MY PERSONAL PRAYER POWER WITH GOD
Bible Fact: God has already prescribed in scripture how He will reveal Himself and His help to me.
Bible Text: II Chronicle 7:14
Aim: To lead students to improve their individual spiritual relationship with God through prayer and to experience more answered prayers.
A tale is told about a small town that had historically been “dry,” but then a local businessman decided to build a tavern. A group of Christians from a local church were concerned and planned an all-night prayer meeting to ask God to intervene. It just so happened that shortly thereafter lightning struck the bar and it burned to the ground. The owner of the bar sued the church, claiming that the prayers of the congregation were responsible, but the church hired a lawyer to argue in court that they were not responsible. The presiding judge, after his initial review of the case, stated that “no matter how this case comes out, one thing is clear. The tavern owner believes in prayer and the Christians do not.” J.K. I. DISCOVERING MY PERSONAL PRAYER POWER WITH GOD
A. God wants to hear from me as I seek Him with my prayers.
I. According to II Chronicle 7:14 list the four (4) things that God expects for me to do as I approach Him with my prayers that indicate my level of sincerity.
II. In II Chronicles 7:14 what three things has God promised to do when I comply with His word to have the right approach to Him?
B. Something graceful happens between me and God when I pray.
I. God requires repentance in order for me to find His presence. In Daniel 9:3,4 see if you can list at least seven (7) things that describes how Daniel approached the Lord in his prayer.
II.God demands earnest prayers of confession from me. I can make a list of at least twelve (12) of Daniel’s admissions of sin that he openly agreed to in his prayer unto the Lord in Daniel 9:5-23. Share your list with your group to see how long the list could have been. Use the extra worksheet if necessary.
