Sunday School-LTC Lessons

A Christian Life Connection Series

“DEVELOPING MY RELATIONSHIPS
Lesson 3: “The Holy Spirit Reveals Sin Through God’s Word”

Bible Fact: The Bible is the infallible word of God and the primary authorized written source that gives Divine instructions to all true Christians.

Bible Text: John 16:7,13

Aim: To lead students to accept the Holy Ghost as the promise of Jesus Christ to them personally and to encourage them to be guided by His will for their decisions and daily living.

Few college football coaches have made a point against drugs as effectively as Erk Russell of Georgia Southern College. He arranged for a couple of good ol’ country boys to burst into a routine team meeting and throw a writhing, hissing, six-foot-long rattlesnake onto a table in front of the squad. “Everyone screamed and scattered,” Russell recalls. “I told them, ‘When cocaine comes into a room, you’re not nearly as apt to leave as when that rattlesnake comes in. But they’ll both kill you!”

How likely are Christians to run when sin comes near their heart? Sin kills my relationship with the Holy Spirit and will not let me know God better nor have an improved relationship with Him. I shall study this lesson to learn the value that God’s word plays in helping me to recognize and avoid sin.

I. The word of God is the absolute key to knowing God’s will. How do the following scriptures reveal that God’s word helps one to know and to deal with sins that act against performing the will of God to perfect ones’ relationship with God the Holy Spirit.
