RHEA - STEWART WEDDING
Stephon Rhea and DeLise Stewart celebrated their love recently with a fabulous, formal, evening wedding ceremony attended by family and friends. The ceremony took place at The Ashton Gardens, nestled romantically away in deep northeast Houston. DeLise is the daughter of Darrell Stewart, Sr. and Melvin and Denise Preston, and Stephon is the son of Ronald Rhea and Sandra Rhea. There were an excess of 300 people in attendance to witness the nuptials.

Donna Malveaux hosted a lavish 18th birthday and graduation party for her daughter, Erica Nicole Henderson recently. Erica graduated from DeKaney High School and over 150 of her family and closest friends were on hand to help her celebrate the joyous occasions.

In 1982, Pastor Kirbyjon Hines Caldwell had 25 members at Windsor Village United Methodist Church. Today, Windsor Village United Methodist Church is the largest United Methodist Church in the nation, with membership at 17,000. Sunday, June 10, 2012, was a significantly historic day for the City of Houston as the Windsor Village United Methodist Church Family and the nation celebrated the "30th Anniversary of Senior Pastor, Kirbyjon H. Caldwell, The Man, The Ministry, The Message"; proclaiming the day Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell Day! Erica Lee, daughter of U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, was one of several dignitaries on hand to make a special presentation to Pastor Caldwell.
TSU - 85 YEARS AND BEYOND
Texas Southern University turns 85 years old this year. To celebrate and pay tribute, it has embarked upon an ambitious journey to tell the story of its’ creation, founding, traditions and legacy. The first such event was held recently at Scott Gertner’s - The Pavillions with, "Keeping the Music Alive," a musical tribute to entertainment greats such as Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, and many others. Spotted that night were TSU’s Community Awareness Program coordinator Georgia Provost, making sure the event flowed smoothly. She has created a business directory for community, alumni and friends of TSU. Did ya’ll hear about this one? Rumor has it that a certain lawman took his girlfriend to the Bobby Brown/New Edition concert. Well, Hazel, you might say, what’s wrong with that? Well, the problem is - he didn’t know that his wife’s sister was gonna be at the same concert. So what does the sister-in-law do when she sees the lovebirds on a date? She politely pulls out her I-phone and snaps several pictures and proceeds to send them to wifey at the house, with a note saying; "Your husband is here at the concert with a date!" What that song say - Ain’t nobody humping around! Officer, keep your guns locked up, all of them.
