Texans

The Houston Texans look to build off of the momentum they had from OTAs going into mini camp. Mini camp was held this week for three days and gave coaches a chance to get another look into their team before training camp.

Last season, the Texans didn’t have much trouble scoring points from the red zone — they scored in some way nearly every time. What was more of an issue was scoring touchdowns rather than field goals. That’s an area of emphasis for the Texans this offseason, and the additions of Greg Jones and rookie receiver DeAndre Hopkins could help in that respect.

From botched snaps to miscues on routes, the Texans looked all but polished as they wound up the last week of OTAs.

According to head coach Gary Kubiak, there’s going to be a little bit of that here and there. “We had a lot of mistakes probably because I gave them a little bit too much [to handle].”

SuperbowlThe NFL announced Tuesday that due to a scheduling conflict at Radio City Music Hall, the 2014 NFL Draft will be held May 8-10 in New York. The draft usually takes place the last weekend of April.

SuperbowlThe Houston Texans begin Week 2 of OTAs looking to improve from last week. On Tuesday, they began on a sour note as running back Arian Foster went down with a strained calf. Foster was injured on the very first play of team drills at the Methodist Training Center.

SuperbowlThe stage is set and the votes are in. On Monday, May 21st, NFL owners cast their ballots for the cities that will host both Super Bowl L and Super Bowl LI.
