AKAThe Emerging Young Leaders Program Initiative, started by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated National President, Carolyn House Stewart, is designed to significantly impact the lives of young girls in 6th through 8th grades by focusing on leadership development, civic engagement, educational enrichment and character building.

During the 10:30 a.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012, Worship Service at Holman Street Baptists Church Miss Faith A. Lyons accepted the Westberry-Engram Sigma Educational Foundation, Inc. 2012 scholarship. The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization of Alpha Beta Sigma Chapter – Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

The goal is to provide healthy lifestyles, character development and inspiration for career success. Renowned as "The Positive Place for Kids," the Clubs serve nearly 10,000 children and teens ages 7 to 17 each year, many of whom have few other positive relationships or dependable resources in their lives.
