The North Shore Mustangs ran past the Kingwood Mustangs 48-28 in front of a sellout crowd at Galena Park ISD Stadium.

 

North Shore, ranked # 4 in the area in Class 5A broke open a close game in the fourth quarter outscoring Kingwood 20-7 in route to a homecoming win. North Shore’s defense led by senior Arnold Robinson and sophomore’s Trevon Tate and NaJee Toran made huge plays in the last three minutes of the game.

 Brendon Ellis, 10 years old, of Houston, TX, has been named to the 3rd Annual Offense-Defense Youth All-American Bowl. Brendon, a Defensive Lineman for The Westfield Cowboys, will join dozens of peers in his age group nationwide in an East meets West clash that is part of a week-long series of events leading up to the nationally-televised, 6th-annual Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, an All-Star football game of similar format showcasing 80 of the top high school seniors in the country. Brendon was selected from a group of young athletes numbering in the thousands across the country to participate in this one-of-a-kind All-Star game.

Texas Southern Student Goes to NFL FrontpageDetroit, MI-Texas Southern linebacker Dejuan Fulghum’s hard work is paying off.  He has a shot at the next level in his football career.  Fulghum signed as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions.

 “All I can say is that this opportunity is well deserved and that the best is yet to come for Dejuan,” said TSU interim head coach and defensive coordinator Kevin Ramsey.  “I have coached on that level and I know he has the tools to make it work in his favor.”

Lady Bear to Play in Preseason WNITBig 12 regular and postseason champion, the Baylor Lady Bears will compete along with 15 other teams, in the 2011 Preseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Friday, November 11th at the Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas.

The Lady Bears will host Howard Universityin a first-round game. Joining Baylor and Howard in the tournament will be Akron, Chattanooga, Detroit, Drexel, ETSU, Hartford, Indiana State, Long Island, Manhattan, McNeese State, Notre Dame, Tennessee Tech, UAB and UCLA.
